Born in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, New Brunswick, Canada, Reverend Alvin J. LeBlanc moved with his family to Hartford, Connecticut, in July 1960. After an early education in Catholic schools, Reverend LeBlanc attended Saint  Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, then the University of Hartford, where he majored in philosophy and French literature. As a seminarian, he attended Saint  Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore. He was ordained deacon on November 21, 1981, and priest on November 6, 1982, at Saint  Thomas Seminary Chapel, Bloomfield, CT.

Reverend LeBlanc’s first priestly assignment was Parochial Vicar at Saint  Augustine, Seymour, CT, from 1982 to 1986. In 1986, he was sent to Rome for post-graduate studies at the University of Saint  Thomas Aquinas, where he earned a J.C.L. (Canon Law) in 1988. In the summer of 1988, he was assigned as Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Waterbury, CT, with an initial part-time ministry in the Metropolitan Tribunal in Hartford. From September of 1989 to the summer of 2003, he worked full time as Judge and Defender of the Bond for the Marriage Tribunal in   Hartford.   During this period, he held the following positions at the Metropolitan Tribunal: 1989-1990: Judge and Defender of the Bond; 1990-1998: Adjutant Judicial Vicar; and 1998-2003: Judicial Vicar.

While working at the Tribunal, Reverend LeBlanc served as priest-in-residence at Saint  Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield and assisted as a Spiritual Director to seminarians in the Archdiocese of Hartford. In addition, he acted as weekend-assistant at Saint Catherine of Siena Church, West Simsbury from 1989 to 1995.

In addition to his full-time weekday Tribunal role, he was appointed Parish Administrator of Saint  Anne Church, Waterbury, a French-Canadian faith community from 1995 until 2003.  In June 2003, he was assigned as Pastor of Saint Elizabeth Seton, Rocky Hill, while continuing part-time ministry as Judge at the Tribunal. Fr. LeBlanc has also taught courses in Canon Law in our Archdiocesan Lay Ministry and Diaconal programs.

In December 2004, he was elected to the Priests Personnel Board and re-elected in 2010, serving a total of twelve years. In July 2006, he was appointed as Pastor of Saint Ann Church, Bristol, a French-speaking community, where he served for eleven years.  More recently, Father LeBlanc completed a sabbatical at Saint Paul University/University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada, acquiring a Graduate Diploma in Canonical Practice in May 2017.  Father LeBlanc joined our family of faith at Saint Timothy Parish on July 8, 2017.

Deacon Dennis Ferguson was born in New York City, grew up in Darien and Wilton, Connecticut, and has resided in West Hartford for more than 35 years.

His undergraduate degree is in Special Education and he retired from the Connecticut Department of Developmental Disabilities after 25 years as Director of Residential Services.  He was accorded the distinction of Fellow of the American Association of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. He received his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1988, and is a solo practitioner in West Hartford specializing in Trusts, Estates and Probate law.

Deacon Dennis is a member of various local and national boards including:  Hartford Archdiocese Catholic Charities; American School for the Deaf; Catholic Health East; Mercy Housing and Shelter; and the William J. Ryan Scholarship Committee. He is the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Mercy Community Health, and is also an Associate of the Sisters of Mercy.

Deacon Dennis is married to Linda Dow, Chief Counsel for the Human Resources Division of the Connecticut Judicial Branch. They have three children and seven grandchildren, who, he says, live too far away:  Sacramento, California; Atlanta, Georgia; and Boston, Massachusetts.

pat Our Pastoral Associate

Patricia Ann Piano, our Pastoral Associate, has served the parish of St. Timothy since September 2002. Her ministry is wide in its scope and includes the development and support of many of the areas of parish life. She is the coordinator of all the liturgical ministries, works with the Pastoral Care Team, and facilitates the RCIA process. She offers a lectionary scripture study each Tuesday morning in the dining room of the rectory (all welcome) as well as spiritual direction by appointment.

Pat is a native of Philadelphia, and lived in Westchester, NY and Wilbraham, MA, before moving to Connecticut.  She studied education and psychology at Immaculata College, Immaculata, PA, and holds a Masters Degree in Religious Studies from Regis University, Denver, CO.  She worked as Director of Faith Formation at St. Ann Parish in Avon, CT for 14 years before coming to St. Timothy.  Pat is married to Dan Piano and has five grown children and eight grandchildren.

Father Henry C. Frascadore, a Bristol native, was ordained on May 7, 1959. He was educated at St. Anthony School, St. Thomas Seminary, and St. Bernard Seminary, Rochester, NY. During his last year of theology he was a prefect at St. Thomas Seminary. After ordination, he received an MA and an MEd from Boston College in 1964. He attended the Outward Bound School in Leadville, CO and the American College, Catholic University of Louvain, Leuven, Belgium on Sabbatical in Contemporary Catholic Theology. He also studied at Heythrop (Jesuit) College, London.

His first parish assignments were St. Clare, East Haven and St. Augustine, Hartford. In 1964 he was named Vice Principal and Director of Guidance at South Catholic High School, Hartford. In 1966 he became principal of South Catholic. In 1973 he was appointed Archdiocesan Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education.

In 1985, Father Frascadore became a familiar figure in our area as President of Northwest Catholic High School. During his 11 years in that capacity, Northwest was cited by the U.S. Department of Education for Excellence in Education. In 1995 St. Joseph College awarded him an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters for his distinguished service to Catholic education.

In 1997 Governor Rowland appointed him to the Board of Trustees, Hartford Public Schools Board of Education. That same year, he became pastor of St. Dominic Church, Southington where he served until his retirement. He is currently a Corporator for St. Francis Hospital, and a senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Hartford. He has written extensively on educational topics.

In 2011 Father Frascadore published a well-received book of his poems and reflections “Beyond the Weeping Willow Tree.”  His latest publication is “Harmony.”   Fr. Frascadore lives in Hartford with his dog.

Rochelle  Our Director of Music

Rochelle Bard joined the staff of St. Timothy Church in 2013, having previously served as the music director of another parish.  An award-winning, nationally-known opera singer, Rochelle had her Carnegie Hall debut in June, 2014.  She was recently bestowed an honorary doctorate by her alma mater, The College of the Holy Cross, and holds a master’s degree in voice from the New England Conservatory.  To reach Rochelle:  rochellebard@gmail.com

Mary Beth Rosato, joined the St. Timothy staff in 2015.  A native of Minnesota, Mary Beth grew up in West Hartford.  After earning a BA in Math and Economics from Mount Holyoke College, she relocated to the Baltimore-Washington area where she lived for 18 years before returning to CT in 1999.  While in MD she earned an MBA from the University of Maryland and worked in programing, marketing and project management for Westinghouse and IBM.

While raising her three children, Mary Beth immersed herself in countless volunteer activities in the schools, her parishes and the community at large.  A 2007 graduate of the Catholic Biblical School, she is a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in West Simsbury where she currently serves as a lector and choir member.

For the past five years, Mary Beth has advocated and cared for her elderly parents who now reside at McLean in Simsbury.   She volunteers as a SNAP Advisor for Foodshare and proudly plays in the handbell choir at Holy Family Retreat Center.  Mary Beth resides in Avon with her husband, David, and their furry friend, Charley.
