Anointing of the Sick

The Lord Jesus, physician of our souls and bodies, who forgave the sins of the paralytic and restored him to bodily health, has willed that his Church continue, in the power of the Holy Spirit his works of healing and salvation.

Anointing of the Sick, along with Reconciliation, is one of the two sacraments of healing.  It is intended for those who are being tried by illness. From ancient times we have testimonies to the practice of anointing of the sick with blessed oil. This anointing is given to those who are seriously ill by anointing them on the forehead and hands with blessed oil while the priest says: “Through this holy anointing may the Lord in his love and mercy help you with the grace of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord who frees you from sin, save you and raise you up.”
This sacrament is celebrated annually in community at our beautiful Healing Mass, or by appointment with Fr. LeBlanc.
